Hear the Band

Call us old-fashioned, but we like to have what musicians used to call "open rehearsals." In other words, while we practice, we invite anyone who wants to hear us to come on in and grab a chair... or a piece of floor, if all the chairs are taken. Almost always there are a few neighbors and friends already there. Some of them bring desserts to feed the band, but, hey, that's not a hint or anything.

The 1937 Flood has a jam session almost every Wednesday night, starting about 7:30, usually at the home of one of the members.

If you live in the Huntington, West Virginia, area -- or will be visiting our fair city -- and would like to drop by and listen, you'll be as welcome as could be. Just e-mail us a line in advance and we'll confirm whether the band is indeed jamming that day and where the gathering is to be.

Meanwhile, yes, we are working on that new CD. It's always been something of a holy grail for The Flood, but this time, by golly, it's going to happen. We're working with the incomparable Buddy Griffin who is running the board, and we're hopeful to have something to report before the end of the year. Watch this space!
