Music from

The 1937 Flood

(The Band, Not the Natural Disaster)

"Ain't nothing natural about these boys' selections!" -- Charles Darwin

Twenty-five years in the making, the recorded tunes of The 1937 Flood are finally available!

Based in Huntington, West Virginia, The 1937 Flood is nothing if not eclectic. On any given evening, the guys are likely to play Irish and Appalachian fiddle tunes backed by crazy jugband music of the 1920s. Folk classics by Dylan, Lightfoot and Prine are sandwiched between unique versions of standards like "Ain't Misbehavin'" "Stormy Weather" and "Sweet Georgia Brown," or maybe a blues by Mississippi John Hurt, or some three-part harmony on a West Virginia anthem by Hazel Dickens.

Get a Special Autographed Copy!

The winner of this bid will receive a copy of The Flood's new CD, The Band, Not the Natural Disaster, that has been autographed by all six members. (Yes, even the mysterious Joe Dobbs and the mercurial Dave Peyton!)

And if you'd like to sample the goods before you bid, visit the gang's Web site at www.1937flood.com where you can hear snippets of all 13 tracks, read the stories of the members, learn how the band got its name and find out how you can attend a jam session. Warning, tho. Members report The Flood is a fairly easy group to get into but deucedly hard to get out of.

By the way, winner of the bid pays $1.85 for shipping and handling.
